This unit overlooking the gorgeous Happy Valley in Caloundra received a full renovation. We installed new flooring, repainted, new kitchen and bathrooms, plus rejigged the laundry closet to a concealed laundry/ linen storage space. We also installed an electric fireplace within VJ panelled walls. Our lovely clients selected high grade materials and fixtures for their holiday unit, so that when they come up to the Sunshine Coast for a visit, their renovation feels luxurious and serene. They enlisted the help of Linda’s good friend and Interior Designer Amelia, who created layers of blues, whites and greens for a glamorous coastal look.
Who lives here?
Linda and her husband Michael Omeros and their two daughters. This is their holiday home.
Your Asset Renovations: Did you have a vision of what the finished project would look like, and does it fit this image?
Linda: Absolutely, it exceeds my expectations. I now have a laundry! Ben came up with the clever concealed laundry idea. It makes use of the area and gives me so much storage!
Your Asset Renovations: What were your biggest concerns you had before undertaking the renovation?
Linda: I knew we would face some challenges- there were a few structural hurdles plus an existing leak. But I always felt comfortable and confident with Ben and his work.
Your Asset Renovations: What is your favorite new zone?
Linda: The bench seat, it’s the perfect spot to read the paper and have my morning cuppa looking out over the ocean. Even though this is a unit, the house is surprisingly long. The hallway just keeps going. There are so many little zones so that everyone can hang out but not be on top of each other.
Your Asset Renovations: If you did it again, is there anything you would do differently?
I honestly think it is perfect. I love it all.
